China is in the midst of a crackdown. Perhaps this explains the importance of freedom of speech, freedom of association and Religious Freedom. In spite of all our faults, the US is still the best damn country on the planet.

There is another horrific report from Pakistan where village elders ordered a “revenge rape” as a punishment. After a man was accused of raping a woman in Pir Mahal in the Toba Tek Singh district of Punjab province, the village council formed and ordered the sister of the accused to be raped by the brother of his victim as justice.

Malaysian Minister Shahidan Kassim has made international news by proclaiming that atheists should be “hunted down” and that constitutional rights do not apply to them . He is not alone in the heavily Islamic nation in this hateful view and many support such a crackdown.
